Fiber artist Laura Gaskin lives in Fairview, NC in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From her studio, she watches the seasons change, marching up the mountains in the spring, down the mountains in the fall. She sees birds perch, flowers bloom, vegetables grow, and clouds shift. Indoors, collected treasures sit on the windowsill: feathers, stones, seed pods, dried plants.

Laura makes embroidery quilts inspired by the color and imagery of the mountain landscape. Check out the portfolios on this website to see examples of her work. If you want more information feel free to contact Laura.

Laura is a member of both Piedmont Craftsmen (juried in 2010) and Southern Highland Craft Guild (juried in 2008).
